Theremin 30 YouTube Playlist

Before becoming a professional musician, solo classical recordings like this one were a strong hobby of mine. In this video, I experimented with the vocal possibilities of my D-Lev theremin prototype (https://d-lev.com). Each of the three theremin voices has its own "voice" (different vocal presets). Mimicking the human voice with the theremin is definitely not a new idea. There are plenty of videos showcasing formant-shaping pedals (like the EHX Talking Machine), and some other D-Lev performances. For some reason, I have always been a bit afraid of this, as nothing can replace a true lyrical singer. Also, the theremin shines on its own right with a very unique tone. I am not sure I would use this setup on a regular basis - but it was fun to try!

You’re in a strange yet intimate land where sound moves slowly but unpredictably. When you least expect it you find yourself in these beautiful soft lush landings… I fell in love with this sumptuous song by @Erich Wolfgang Korngold from his Drei Gesänge Op.18 #1 called "In meine innige Nacht". Some of you may know Korngold from his great Hollywood action soundtracks from the 1930's and 40's. This piece, composed in 1924, reminds me a little of Messiaen... pre-Messiaen… In concert from Kalamazoo, MI on May 14th, 2022. I recorded the piano track which is trickier than it sounds! I’m playing a Hobbs theremin through EH TM for thereminists… #gilmorepianofestival #theremin #pianomusic #song #korngold #erichwolfgangkorngold #classicalpiano #jazzpiano #electronicmusic #love #beautiful #robschwimmer

My exploration of outer space and music-An original piece, the main and very expressive lead instrument is Haken Continuum with my backing track on piano and (appropriately) Andromeda. When I finished the recording it really did feel "Beyond the Sky" to me so what could be more perfect than the incredible NASA photos from the Hubble and Webb telescopes! This is also a tribute to one of my lifelong guitar heroes who passed away last year. Thinking of his music still resonating in space…

Stephen Hamm, a legendary figure in the Vancouver musicand arts scene for over three decades, is proud to announce the release of his second single, "Are You Receiving Me?", from his upcoming album Songs of the Future. The album is slated for release on May 6th, promising a thrilling journey into the realms of electro-rock. Delving into themes of losing connection, longing for reconnection, and the poignant pain of isolation - "Are You Receiving Me?" harnesses Hamm's introspective lyrics combined with his dynamic musical arrangements promising to captivate audiences worldwide. The accompanying music video, directed, shot, and edited by the talented Ani Kyd adds a visual dimension to the song's narrative. With a distinct vision in mind, Kyd crafted an epic visual experience, creating a spaceship capsule set using props from Industrial Works. The result is a visually stunning journey that complements the song's emotional depth. Stephen Hamm, as Theremin Man, invites listeners to emba…
