THE BEAUTY OF SADNESS - Original Track Composed / Improvised by Gary P Hayes.

These are sad times so decided to do a highly 'reflective' melancholy piece. A 2nd take improvisation using Crow Hill's 'Small String Gestures' then a 3rd take on my Claravox over the top - as usual without any pitch correction during or after ...my technique with these is to do the backing and then play it in a loop while I do other things for 20-30 minutes. By the time I impro the theremin over the top of it, I can anticipate the chordal flow and inner lines of the backing, especially easy progressions like this. Also getting to the point now where I can think about the phrase in my head before I play it, in context - which I think is the next step beyond just hoping individual notes or short runs 'might' work.

The String part played as backing is Crow Hill's 'Small String Gestures' plugin which I use in logic - played from an XKey 37.
