The featured interview is with RCA theremin expert Mike Buffington, who discusses restoring and reproducing rare instruction manuals, service notes, and promotional brochures associated with the original RCA theremin. Buffington explains his painstaking process of scanning, repairing, and authentically reprinting the historical documents so collectors, museums, and theremin enthusiasts can preserve an important part of the instrument’s legacy.

The featured interview is with thereminist Kip Rosser about the Juliet Shaw Legacy Project, his effort to organize, digitize, preserve, and place the extensive archive of pioneering American pianist and thereminist Juliet Shaw with an appropriate institution. Rosser discusses Shaw’s unique instrument, musical career, teaching and philanthropy, the rediscovery of rare recordings and documents, and a fundraising campaign supporting the archive’s preservation and release.

The featured interview is with Drew Raison, executive director of the Electronic Music Education and Preservation Project (EMEAPP), who describes the organization’s extensive collection of historically significant electronic instruments, including rare theremins, Moog prototypes, keyboards, and recording equipment. Raison also explains how EMEAPP preserves these instruments while making selected pieces available for educational programs, artist residencies, recordings, and performances.
